SCOD (Surgical Center for Obesity and Diabetes) was started six years ago in 2011 under the mentorship of Dr. Laurent Layani from Weightloss Solutions Australia based in Gold Coast and was known as Weightloss Solutions India.

Weightloss Solutions India was a tie up between Weightloss Solutions Australia and Dr. Arush Sabharwal.

During the first year of the tie up Dr. Arush Sabharwal felt the term WEIGHTLOSS was not correct as it was misguiding the common public who thought it to be a center for Conservative Management for Obesity and hence had a formal meeting with Dr. Laurent Layani where we had a mutual consensus of renaming Weightloss Solutions India to SCOD (Surgical Center for Obesity and Diabetes).

Dr. Arush Sabharwal, belonging to a well renowned family of doctors in Delhi (Capital city of India) and the family runs Nine Hospitals in Delhi. He is the Fifth Generation of doctors in the same family. The Sabharwal Family is the largest family practicing ALLOPATHY Medicine in the world with 140 doctors in the same family.

SCOD (Surgical Center for Obesity and Diabetes) then became a part of Dr. Arush Sabharwal’s family business (Jeewan Mala Hospital) in 2012.

Due to the combined vision of Dr. Shivani Sabharwal (Dr. Arush Sabharwal’s wife and a renowned Gynaecologist) and Dr. Arush Sabharwal was the birth of SLC (Sabharwal Laparoscopy Center) LLP on January 30, 2015 and SCOD (Surgical Center for Obesity and Diabetes) became a part of SLC LLP.

After the shift, SCOD started to expand the services in the form of SCOD Clinics and got attachments in various hospitals not only in Delhi but also in neighboring states (Gurugram, Haryana; Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh).

By January 2017, SCOD has 4 clinics in Delhi, 1 in Gurugram, 1 in Saharanpur and 1 in Chandigarh and are associated with 3 hospitals in Delhi, 1 hospital in Gurugram, 1 hospital in Saharanpur and 1 hospital in Chandigarh.

SCOD Clinics are state of art clinics and are not only awarded as the best Bariatric and Reconstructive Surgery Clinics in the year 2015 & 2016 but also gained International Recognition after being Awarded by His Holiness Shri Dalai Lama for our contribution to health care. It is also certified by IEF (International Excellence Federation for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery) for their quality of services.

Bariatric Surgery requires a multi-disciplinary approach and hence A typical SCOD Clinic consists of Bariatric Coordinator, Bariatric Counselor, Bariatric Physician, Bariatric Nutritionist, Psychologist and Bariatric Surgeon.

Gastric Bypass

Mine was MGB and it was painless. I was home 24 hours post surgery. Dr. Aarush Sabharwal is amazing and so positive that after consulting with him only once I was up for it! I was up to change my life, healthier for the better indeed. The treatment was fabulous. My experience was positive, once it's done and you start seeing results, believe me, you really can't thank the doctor and his team enough for such good work. I am always in touch with Dr. Arush. He is so concerned about each and every patient. No wonder he's the best when it comes to Bariatric.

Gastric Bypass

2 weeks post op gastric bypass.Healing well I am back at work now and feeling great I have lost 10 kg so far and can't wait to continue on my weight loss journey. So far no problems with eating/ drinking.And after 1 week I could start taking tablets. The staff were amazing Everything ran smoothly from my airport pick up.Tests that night and the next morning to my op and after care.I felt well cared for and the were so friendly and helpful.Great clinic.

Gastric Bypass

Before meeting Dr. Arush I had visited more than 5 hospitals and met so many doctors but the comfort level I got from him was amazing. I must say I did not feel at all that Dr. Arush is a normal professional doctor who just wants to make his numbers or transaction money. To me, he felt like a family doctor or a friend who cares for patients more than the money.I was convinced to proceed with the operation, got admitted and got my test done. My patelets came low, the operation was postponed for more than 2 months, whereas other doctors whom I had visited earlier were following up too and said they can add 1 lac plus patelets and operate but incase of Dr. Arush the first importance is the patient health. He went personaly with my reports to other senior specialised doctors and also got their opinion for me. He could have sent his hospital staff but did it personally which I appreciate and honour. Once my patelets were established then only was the operation planned. The operation went well, he had been following up regularly about my patelets pre operation as well as post operation. Hw was available 24/7 for support and help and also shared amazing recipes to keep our spirits high as he himself has gone through the surgery and know how it feels to be a patient.Even the WhatsApp SCOD Family Group is very supportive, not only Dr. Arush his whole team Pinky, Gurpreet, Bhavya and whole staff of Jeevan Mala Hospital made me feel at home not in any hospital. Thanks Dr. Arush for your support guidance and wish you success and your dream to be one place centre for weight loss be a success. The clinic was amazing, even their New Rohtak Road Clinic and Hospital is a nice place, properly maintained and clean.
