Dr. Cemal Kara was born in 1974 in Vakfıkebir, Trabzon, Turkey. He completed his medical education at Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Medicine between 1992 and 1998. He became a specialist in General Surgery in 2008 after completing his residency at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital.
Between 2008 and 2015, Dr. Kara worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Karşıyaka State Hospital. During this period, he successfully performed advanced surgeries such as esophageal cancer, obesity surgeries, and laparoscopic colon procedures for the first time at the hospital.
Dr. Kara has performed over 20,000 surgeries throughout his career, serving patients from 53 different countries. His expertise extends to advanced laparoscopic surgeries, obesity surgeries, and aesthetic surgical procedures, which have significantly improved the lives and confidence of his patients. Dr. Kara is particularly skilled in combining functionality with aesthetics, ensuring optimal outcomes for his patients.
He has authored 19 international and 17 national scientific studies. He has won numerous awards in scientific competitions and holds a patent for a laparoscopic surgical instrument he invented. In 2008, he received the Surgical Competency Certificate from the Turkish Surgical Association. He also completed his endoscopy training in 2010 and is an active endoscopist.
He is a member of the Turkish Surgical Association, Turkish Colon and Rectal Surgery Association, Aegean Region Surgery Association, and Izmir Medical Chamber. Currently, he practices at Medical Park Izmir Hospital.

Great team really nice people sister, doctor assistants nutrition consultant. Cemal kara a super doctor. I was on my feet on the first day I only recommend it, everything was great. You will be discharged three days after the operation.From the airport, you will be picked up and driven back. Driven back and picked up for the corona test. 2 years ago, I had a tube stomach operation with another doctor. Before the operation, everything was fine. I could never reach the doctor after the operation! There was no one I could solve my problems with after the operation. Over time, I gained weight again and I was confronted by Cemal Kara. I had another surgery 6 months ago, trusting Mr Cemal and his team. Before the surgery, I was extremely anxious about my bad experience. I was able to reach out to his team constantly, they answered every question and they helped me a lot. My doctor and team convinced me to operate. I started walking 2 hours after the operation. I had no pain at all, it was as if I had not had an operation. When I saw the photo of my stomach, I was convinced. :) I came alone to have an operation. The nurses, my doctor and his team never left me alone there. They became my family. It has been 6 months since my operation and I have not had any problems until now. I was 103 kg and now I am 75 kg. I can only thank my dear doctor and his team, whom I can reach every time I send a message or call. I am very happy that they never left me alone. Dr Cemal changed my life. 2 weeks post op all my stitches from keyhole had cleared and the incisions where so small and neat. I am 5 weeks post op and they’ve dissapeared! I have had NO pain relief since the night of the op because I’ve had no pain. To say this Dr is talented is an understatement. He is the BEST in the business. Such a gentleman. I thought long and hard about the operation and did excessive research about this, then I found Dr Cemal Kara read all hos success stories listened to all hos conversation and trusted to have my operation, after speaking some time with Nurse Emine and the friendly conversations that I had with her I finally decided to book my appointment and go to Izmir. I arrived in Izmir and the wonderful Ebru came to pick me up and take me to the hospital and was with me and explained what was going to happen, got to the hospital everyone was so welcoming, I started having the checks and pre-ops, by the morning all the tests came back safe and ready for me to have the life-changing operation, stayed at the hospital for 5 days and returned back to the UK the staff were with me all the way and helped me with anything I needed. I travelled on my own but never felt lonely as I had all the nurses really care. I'm very happy and pleased with my decision Dr Cemal Kara came to visits every day to have a chat about how I was feeling and he is very very friendly, after 5 months I have lost 6.9st. Words cannot describe my feelings im very happy. All the staff and The amazing Dr Cemal Kara are very approachable and still to this day they are with me just at the end of the phone and very supportive. Thank you!

I had a sleeve gastrectomy operation now 5 months ago. I have struggled my whole life with losing weight and after finding out about Dr Cemal Kara and his team I knew this was the best option. From the day I met Dr Cemal and his team they have been so supportive and still continue to. After the operation for the first time in my life, I have lost so much weight which I would never imagine. I am so grateful for everything and this has been the best decision I have ever made. I have now started feeling so much more confident with myself and i am so happy with results so far although i still have some way to go. The biggest reason i chose Dr Cemal and his team was because of recommendations from family members that also had the same operation. But even so they have been so supportive and reassuring with ever stage that I knew I was making the right choice. I met Mr. Cemal about 4 months ago. I applied to him to have diabetes surgery and he explained everything to me in detail. I had spoken to a few doctors, but I did not trust them because they did not explain it in such detail. Mr. Cemal is really sincere and reliable in this regard. After the surgery, both weight loss and blood glucose monitoring progressed very well. I stopped taking the medications I was using. My sugar, which is normally between 300-400, is now between 90-100 without using any medication. The attention, sincerity and responsiveness of the team after the surgery made me feel safe. I came to Doc Dr. Cemal Kara after my cousin husband's surgery, and after talking to her about how well she was treated, I decided that I didn't want another doctor for gastric reduction surgery. The care before and after surgery is exemplary. You are given instructions on what and how to eat after this operation. I felt very taken care of.
