Sinus Lift, Dental Implants, Dental Crowns

Dr. Gonzalez, Dr. Ugalde, Dr. Barquero and their staff are excellent! They provided me with a full dental reconstruction, which included 2 sinus lifts, 6 dental implants with crowns, and six additional crowns, as well as anaesthesia for the procedures. I am 100% happy with the outcome and have received multiple compliments on the results. Dealing with Dr. Gonzalez, Dr. Ugalde, Dr. Barquero and their staff could not have been easier. They were always happy to answer all my questions about the procedures and promptly communicated with me via email and text. Their driver, Ronaldo, was wonderful - very prompt and reliable to pick me up for the procedures, and a wonderful tour guide for day trips. Everyone at Sonria was extremely friendly, professional and very competent, and they were knowledgeable about the latest dental developments. I cannot say enough good things about Sonria, both their personal and professional handling of my dental needs. Dr Oriana Gonzalez is not just a first-rate dentist, but she is an artist as well - because she created a smile for me that looks very natural. I am so grateful to Sonria for giving me my smile back!

Dental Crowns

My words cannot do justice to describe the impeccable level of service I received from Dr. Oriana Gonzalez and her lovely staff. I had a complete crown reconstruction so I was already anxious about having to get the procedure done. I knew though I had chosen the right place from the second I walked in. The office was very clean and sterile. This helped ease my anxiety especially considering the elevated risks we face every day. I knew I was safe here and being in good hands put my mind at ease. They worried about all the important details and even ensured my transportation was taken care of each day of the procedure. I can definitely sign off at this point that Dr. Gonzales and her staff are the professionals that you should be using. Now I am definitely confident in my smile. Well worth the trip from the United States.

Dental Crowns, Dental Bridges

I do not give 5 star reviews because I believe there is always ways to improve. I have finally met my match. Sonria Dental Clinic in Costa Rica is 5 stars. I am from Oregon and dental prices here are so expensive for all the crowns and bridges I needed, I could not afford them. From the time I started inquiries with Sonria about my dental situation in June 2023 until I visited their facility in January 2024, they were the most kind and professional group of professionals I have ever worked with. They had a driver (Ronald), pick me up from the airport upon arriving and take me to my one-month apartment in Escazu. Ronald took me to and from every appointment and would even stop if I needed to pick something up at the store. I never needed a car. The dentist Dr. Gonzales was the best, upon arrival the first time she explained to me how the entire process was going to work and during the entire dental procedure she never deviated from our schedule. She was so great at explaining things. Dr Gonzales husband managed the business and and they all treated my like family. I was never concerned or worried. In a year or two my wife needs dental work also and I assure you she will be going to Sonria Dental Clinic.

Dental Implants

I had a 1 on 4 lower implants done and I am ecstatic with the results. Dr Oriana was fantastic, very calming demeanour and explained every procedure thoroughly. She and her staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable throughout the experience. I had a consult for same procedure here in Portland and did not get the same vibe from that office. It seemed that it was more cash-centric than patient-centric and it would have been just shy of 3 times the cost to have it done here in the Portland area. Hard to argue with great service from a very talented and professional office while relaxing in a beautiful country without blowing the bank. I will definitely come back if any future dental needs arise. Even with covid adding an extra 6 months to the timeline, I still give Dr Oriana and all her staff a 10 on a scale of 5.

Dental Implants

I can't say enough about Dr. Gonzalez and her team. It's been three months since I completed my permanent full upper (all on six implants) to replace removable dentures I had made in the United States. The palate portion of the removable dentures were a huge obstacle to eating for more than a year. Normal foods were difficult to eat, and taste was very much diminished. The use of adhesives was another reason I began my search for a prosthodontics specialist. Beginning in December 2014 and ending September 2015, I made three trips to Costa Rica. The first trip required a painless extraction and placement of three titanium implants in my lower arch. Unlike U.S. dentists, Dr. Gonzalez anticipates and prescribes pain medication in advance of procedures. On my second trip, I had six more implants placed in my upper arch, and spent two weeks in Jaco on the Pacific side. I could have had all the work completed on this trip, but decided to let the nine implants integrate with the bone for a few months. The integration went well, and the work was completed in September 2015. Being able to eat normally and enjoy food again has been a blessing. In terms of the cost associated with having the work done in the United States vs Costa Rica, my costs were 50 cents on the dollar, and that included my travel expenses. There may be a few Asian countries that are somewhat less, but the travel expenses are higher. From the time I walked in the door, I was treated with respect. Questions and treatment plans are answered and explained. These are experienced and well educated professionals who go the extra mile for the client. I sincerely believe they are some of the best.

My case was evaluated and determined that I was a good candidate for dental implants. Due to the lack of bone mass I had bone grafts done, these were performed under local anesthesia. Implants were placed and after the bone grafted the crowns were placed. The Treatment and the quality of the work was the best. I would've not been able to afford this quality of work in the US. The care I've received at Sonria Dental Boutique is superior to any I've visited in Florida. I felt like a valued patient. This is in comparison to three dentist in a row ( only two months apart) who treated me like a number and did dental procedures that caused me to develop serious dental issues. Dr. Gonzales is very sincere and truly cares about you the patient. The office was beautiful, very clean, very modern, state of the art equipment. She works with your likes and dislikes and makes a dental plan treatment that is realistic and easy to follow.I am so glad that I found Dr. Gonzales and her Associates. For the first time in years I feel as though I am getting the help with my dental problems that I need.“I am impressed with Dr. Gonzales, She has a welcome attention to detail. She worked and worked until she got my crowns perfect. And that is really nice.” I also need to mention the outstanding coordination of services and transportation provided. I will highly recommend anyone that asks about dentists in Costa Rica and will refer them here.
