In early 2005 Hungary Dentist founder Chris Westcott travelled to the beautiful area of Lake Balaton in Hungary to have a dental implant. Chris enjoyed his time in Hungary so much he agreed to help promote the services of the dentist in the spa town of Heviz. From the beginning of 2017 the experienced staff led by Dr Nyaradi relocated to new state-of-the-art premises closer to the town centre and thermal lake. The practice has also been renamed Lotus Dental Heviz.
We all want you to be sufficiently impressed with your experience that you will feel confident in recommending the many and varied treatments. Our aim is to ease the process in seeking quality dental treatment overseas at a competitive price. As a guide, the cost of an implant in the U.K. can easily reach £2000. With Lotus Dental it is approx. 25% of that price.
Since establishing the business Chris has arranged for a significant number of customers to benefit from dentistry at Heviz. The most popular form of treatment is implants, where the senior English-speaking implantologist is utilised. Chris has a proven track record, rest easy that with him, your trip will be seamless and stress free. Chris has appeared on the BBC Radio 4 programme Excess Baggage and has also featured in the Daily Telegraph.

I had 4 extractions, 6 implants fitted with a 12 piece crown bridge fixed to my top jaw; I also had a 12 piece crown bridge fitted to my bottom jaw over my existing teeth. All carried out with first class care. My ‘Implant journey’ began in November 2013 where I had an appointment/assessment with a U.K. dentist & the cost of having the work done at home just wasn’t an option. I then started to look elsewhere & stumbled across the ‘whatclinic’ website. After having carried out a fair amount of research on various clinics in Hungary I decided that I felt most comfortable with the ‘Hodent’ clinic in Heviz & as it turns out, it was the best decision I could have made. I had had an initial appointment with another Hungarian dental practice that had a clinic in London used for initial assessment prior to travelling to Hungary, where a panoramic x-ray of my teeth/jaws was taken. I also contacted 'Hodent' via the ‘whatclinic’ website & received an email from an English introducer to the Hodent practice within a very short time & from then on, any questions I had were answered promptly & without trying to blind me with science. The English contact proved invaluable in helping advise on flights, arrange accommodation, airport transfers & dental appointments (accommodation & transfers were included in the cost plan where the cost of the treatment was over a certain amount at that time) & to dispel any fears I may have had at any time throughout the whole process.I emailed the panoramic x-ray I'd had taken in London to the introducer who forwarded it on to Hodent, where I received a cost plan based on the x-ray the following afternoon & at around a third of the cost it would be in the U.K.My first appointment to the Hodent practice was in March 2014 where I was greeted by a smiling receptionist & in fact, all the staff were very welcoming. The doctors spoke perfect English & just as important, actually listened to my concerns & explained clearly the best option for treatment. I was quite nervous at first but was quite quickly put at ease. I had the initial preparation work done, the necessary extractions, Implants fitted & temporary bridges fixed over a period of around 4 or 5 days (can’t remember exactly). I then returned to the U.K for around 6 months to allow everything to heal.I returned to Hodent in October 2014 for the final treatment & was there for 7 days in total. My temporary bridges were removed, an impression was taken of the top jaw with implants & the bottom teeth were prepared ready for crowns also. My final crown /bridges were made in the onsite laboratory so no delay in making them. Bridges were fitted & I was able to ‘try them out’ for a day or so before going back for my final appointment & having any fine adjustments made until I was completely happy with the finished result.I have lived with my implants for around 18 months now & I’m just so pleased with them still. I think it’s safe to say, my teeth have ‘never’ looked so good & I will be eternally grateful to all the Doctors, Nurses, technicians & everyone involved with the Hodent Dental Practice in Heviz, Hungary.I’m not pretending it was a pleasant experience & after the anaesthetic wore off I did experience some pain & discomfort for a couple of hours on the first visit which is to be expected I suppose as after all, it is quite an invasive procedure, but it was to prove all worth it in the end. The doctors are clearly very skilled in their field & are very sympathetic during the treatment & I don’t hesitate to recommend the practice to anyone that asks me when they see my amazing new teeth. The total cost of the treatment was approx. £7,000 which was around a third of the cost in the U.K. at that time.A big THANKYOU! To you all.
21 crowns and root canal, filling As I was travelling on my own, I was very nervous and this dentist was recommended to me. I had a lot of work to be done so it was a big undertaking to go to Heviz, I was really impressed with everything that was done, Price was excellent and could never have got this done at home. The receptionist and Dentist had very good English. Standard of work and efficiency was excellent.Communication from start to finish was perfect and I found the Dentist very hard working and great attention to detail. Overall I am 100% happy that I did this and would really recommend Hodent. I feel I am selling it since I came back. Heviz itself was a fantastic relaxing safe place with fab lake and ideal for anyone travelling, even on their own.
Thank you for your kind comments. It is always a delight to have positive feedback from a satisfied customer.
I attended the clinic in February 2022, firstly the price, my work was two thirds cheaper than the UK, obviously, it will vary depending on the work but even with flights and hotel, it is so much cheaper than the UK. The clinic is very modern and state of art equipment and very clean, the staff were very friendly and professional, they spoke good English and my dentist was excellent, he knows his stuff and did a great job. I am back for the second phase of treatment in August 2022 and have full confidence in getting any treatment in the future, why get ripped off in the UK for better treatment at the fraction of the cost, yes the transfer from Budapest is a bit of a drag, but all sorted via the clinic and a small price to pay for what is a genuinely first-rate service. The dentist changed my plan when he first met me, which saved me over a thousand which showed me he was more concerned about the quality of the outcome over profit, what a shame its not the way in the UK. In short, I can't recommend the service enough, the best choice I have made in terms of treatment.
