Root Canals

James is a very personable and professional dentist. He puts you immediately at ease with his manner during your initial inspection, and gives a clear and non-technical prognosis of your teeth. He explains what work needs to be done, with options of work types and time frames in a non-judgmental manner. He lets you decide what you want. Perhaps most importantly, he causes no pain, and that is one reason why I will be going back! (Not too soon I hope.)

Extractions

I was in agony over Christmas with a deep cavity in one of my back molars. I booked in to see a local dentist in Sutton and they advised an extraction was needed. They tried to pull the tooth but it was excruciating as the anaesthetic did not take. I could not go through with the extraction.Having previously undergone a root canal at Grand Canal Dental and experienced no pain, I booked an appointment with Dr. Tarpey in the hope that he could remove the tooth with minimal pain and he did not disappoint!I experienced no pain during or after the extraction. The standard of care I received was second to none. Can't recommend Grand Canal Dental enough.

Dentist Consultation

Dr Boland is the perfect dentist for the nervous patient! I was very pleased with the time taken and the thorough work that was done to save my badly damaged tooth that I feared was beyond help. A friendly atmosphere put me at ease and professional service will bring me back. Travelled from outside Dublin but well worth the extra travel.

Dentist Consultation

I have known my colleague Dr James Tarpey for the past 20 years. He is a dentist who takes a genuine interest in caring for his patients. He has a lovely staff and surgery in Grand Canal street and has done a lot of advance training both in Dublin and abroad. He is gentle but thorough, with a relaxed chair-side manner. His surgery is equipped with state of the art equipment and the highest quality materials. It have recommended James to my patients here in London who are returning live in Dublin in the past, and always with a positive result.
