We, at the Gerochi Dental and Implant Center, totally support and stand up for the procedures/treatment suggested to you by Dr. Aezel Jade Tan and done by her. All procedures to be performed were explained to you and agreed upon by you prior to the treatment. It is our standard procedure to have an X-ray taken before doing any treatment of our patients. However, we do not simply rely on the X-ray result. Dr. Aezel’s assessment was based on the actual condition of your tooth and she did not simply rely on the X-ray result. Dr. Aezel had genuine intention to save your tooth since there was only a surface damage. She chose a more conservative treatment and avoided very deep drilling and removal of the old filling which could have given rise to the necessity of doing a root canal treatment. For your information, it is an acceptable procedure to put a different filling together with the old filling considering the condition of your tooth and the desire to save it. As you may know, each Dentist and clinic may have different practices and procedures.We respect our fellow Dentist's works and opinions. We do not criticize another Dentist's works. This is not the way we deal with patients who go to our clinic to get a second opinion. We, at the Gerochi Dental and Implant Center, offer options to our patients instead of criticizing another Dentist's works because we respect whatever procedures or treatments were done in the past by other Dentists.
