The Center is located in the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia. It was established in 1986 by Dr. K. M. Trokoudes M.D., F.R.C.P. (C) who had a leading role in reproductive medicine in Cyprus and Greece.

PEDIEOS IVF CENTER was the first worldwide, to have achieved pregnancy with globozoospermia (rare but severe disorder in male infertility where the spermatozoa is characterized by 100% round headed spermatozoa lacking an acrosome). (Human Reproduction, 1995, Vol.10, w. 4, pp. 880-882-Case Report)

Our recent work on the vitrification of human embryos was published in Reproductive Biomedicine Online Journal (Vitrification of biopsied embryos at cleavage, morula and blastocyst stage (2009)Reprod Biomed Online Oct;19(4):526-31).

Furthermore, our last work on the virification of human oocytes was published in Fertility and Sterility ( Comparison outcome of fresh and vitrified donor oocytes in an egg-sharing donation program (2011) Fertility and Sterility May;95(6):1996-2000)

The center was also featured in the GUINESS BOOK OF RECORDS (1992-1993) for achieving a pregnancy in the oldest mother in the world for those 2 years.

The center received a licenced certificate for the EU Cell and Tissue Directive requirements.

IVF with Donor Eggs

I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience with the Pedieos Clinic. The staff there were kind, helpful, and very professional. They provided me with information on potential donors and the timing my cycle. They coordinated well with my US physicians who prepared me for my cycle. Once I was in Cyprus they were available to assist me in anyway that was needed. Overall, I found the medical care to be of high-quality. I had no concerns about the safety of myself or my embryos. The prices charged were exactly as quoted in advance. I participated in the "special offer" and have no doubt that had my cycle not been successful that they would have kept up their end of the bargain and provided the additional transfers as needed. Based on my extensive research, this was the most cost effective option for the use of donor eggs that I could find in Europe or the US. For me the combination of professionalism, high quality care, and price made this the absolute best choice. Things that gave me confidence in my choice of this clinic included positive reviews, published interviews conducted by Dr. Trokoudes, Dr. Trokoudes' publication of research in peer reviewed journals, and the overall high quality medical care that is routine in Cyprus. Other positives include the warm, welcoming reception to US travelers that I experienced at every juncture. English is spoken routinely in Cyprus. It is a beautiful place. I got to spend a day in Munich on my way to the clinic and Athens on my way home. The trip itself was a treat as I had not been to any of these places before.The only real challenge I experienced with the clinic was coordinating the medication dosages with a US pharmacy. I suspect this had more to do with my local physician than the Pedieos clinic itself.

I will always be indebted to the wonderful team at Pedieos for helping us create our beautiful family. We felt invested in as a couple from day 1 as the staff provide a real personal touch. It took us 10 years to have our three children and could not be more grateful to the amazing embryology team and Dr. Troukades. I could not recommend Pedieos more wholeheartedly to anyone needing fertility treatment.
