The Aberdeen Fertility Centre is a cooperative combining a Fertility Clinic (providing NHS service) and the Assisted Reproduction Unit of Aberdeen Maternity Hospital (providing both NHS and private service). The Clinic accepts patients referred by doctors or hospitals, but they do not accept patients who self-refer. Patients may, however, contact the Centre for advice and information. At the Fertility Clinic, testing of both partners and diagnosis are performed, along with treatments including ovulation induction, donor insemination, IUI, and some reproductive surgeries. At the Assisted Reproduction Unit, a variety of surgical and other treatments are offered: IVF, egg donation, sperm donation, and embryo donation; freezing of eggs and embryos; assisted hatching; and other procedures. Clinic accepts patients on referral only.
