I showed my recent, existing MRI to Dr. Wichart and he went into great detail about what my options were. He was very professional and he spoke perfect English. He needed to see my range of motion in an X-ray so I did that there (4 images) and the whole appointment took 1-hour with a cost of 4,400 baht. I will go back there for my spinal surgery once I sort things out as I have every confidence all will go well. Lovely facility in the Sala Daeng area, quite impressive, very clean and new. They had a few areas under renovation, which is good. Nice coffee shops around if you need to kill some time. I walked from the station in about 10 minutes. It is right next door to the St. Josephs school on Convent Road so very busy when school starts and finishes at 4:00 so be warned.
After flying from London to Bangkok, our toddler picked up a cold and then complained of a sore ear, so since she's been susceptible to ear infections, we wanted to get her seen by a GP. We were recommended to Bangkok Nursing Home Hospital, as it wasn't far from where we were staying, and it was exemplary! The staff were efficient, friendly, and caring. Our child had her temperature and weight taken by a nurse, and we were then ushered into the GP's office by another nurse. The GP diagnosed the ear infection and gave us a prescription for antibiotics. The process from arriving, registering, seeing a doctor and getting the prescription fulfilled took no longer than thirty minutes and cost around £40. The little kids' play area was a huge hit!
I have had no treatment at this time. I changed my plans and did not travel to Bangkok, but when I was treated here in 2007 and 2008, I was well looked after. I always recommend you to those with dentals needs. Our UK health service is ineffective and I will always prefer to come to Asia if I can afford to do so. I also had excellent dental care at the Bangkok nursing home and tell others it is well worth combining a holiday with health care when in Bangkok. All good wishes Sheila. I cannot remember the exact costs but I'd say they were fair.
