To be perfectly frank, I've considered Lasik surgery as an unnecessary luxury. Turned out I underestimated by far how much of an impact perfect vision brings. From small things like shaving, through everyday life freedom, up to watching the horizon line from an aeroplane's window - it feels like I'm experiencing life anew. Not only does it not feel like an overindulgence no more, it feels like I ended up with a once-in-a-lifetime barging. It would be worth it on it's own, getting it done at RCP only made it so much better.If someone tells you getting eye surgery is not scary, they are probably laying. Course it is. The thing with fear is, though, that it can be managed and mitigated, and staff at RCP manages that brilliantly. All the way from the primary examination, throughout the surgery itself, everyone made sure I was well informed and conscious, to a point where I started asking myself why my previous opticians didn't mention this or that. By the time the surgery came, I felt like making sure I'm comfortable is the hard part of the process, procedure itself being almost an afterthought - and it was a breeze. I lack words to express my gratitude to the staff for their professionalism, care and warmth - all the way from reception desk, nurses, to the doctors and surgeon. If anything, how smooth the surgery and healing process goes is a bit disappointing, since I have no reason to visit RCP again.If you are someone like me - on the edge, wondering if going for LASIK is a smart choice, since you can live perfectly fine with glasses? It's worth it. It's doubly worth it at RCP.

RLE - Refractive Lens Exchange

In December 2024, I had a lens replacement performed at the Refractive Center in Prague. For several months, I had been researching both in Norway and other countries to find the best eye surgeons. I chose Dr. Petr Novak in Prague. I had regular email correspondence with the clinic( a lovely woman named Babora), who answered all my questions. We agreed on a date when I (and my husband, who also underwent lens replacement ) would come for an examination. I went through eye and health examination. The procedure was performed on Wednesday for one eye and Friday for the other eye. During both the pre-examinations and the surgeries, I felt very well taken care of. Now, two months later, I am a happy woman who can see and read even the smallest text without glasses. Absolutely fantastic! A huge thanks to Dr. Petr Novak and his team!

LASIK

I had a LASIK procedure done at this clinic. I chose them because I was travelling at the time and I wanted to do the surgery at a clinic near me. I’m very happy with the procedure - it’s completely changed my life and I have a lot more freedom now. The doctors were friendly and the general staff were fantastic. I had my first follow-up a day after my surgery and the second one three days later. I’m completely recovered now. It was absolute value for money and I even got a discount in September when I went for the appointment. I would recommend them to anyone who’s thinking of having this eye treatment done. The staff speak English at this clinic and they’re very hospitable.

The whole experience was an absolute pleasure. I booked the check-up test from home and the procedure for the following day. Beautiful clinic, with an ultra clean and friendly environment. I highly recommend them. I have always been heavily dependent upon glasses since as far back as I can remember.I had my surgery in March. Dr. Petr Novák is a wonderful surgeon. I was a very scared patient, but I needn’t have worried. All the staff are excellent. I have had eye surgery this week to replace my lenses for both eyes, with the Refrakcni Centrum in Prague. The staff there are all professional and charming. Dr Novac explained the choices and processes for my treatment very clearly, and we agreed a treatment plan together. So far the treatment has been trouble-free and my sight is improving day-by-day. It is only a few days since my final operation, so if things either continue to progress or do not, I will update this review.

I went there in order to make an LASIK surgery and improve eyesight. However during the examination, the doctor had identified a problem. He had a suspicion that I may have an eye disease that makes this type of surgery very risky for me and my eyes.So I have been strongly recommended not to do a LASIK surgery and advised to wait at least for a nine month before I can take another tests that will define if there is any progress of this disease and if there is a chance to make a LASIK surgery. I need to say that I was disappointment because it was not possible to make a surgery, that I really wanted to do. However, I am very satisfied that the doctor was honest with me and that has putted my well being for the first place. Very nice place, situated at the centre of the city. Very clean, very modern. Great staff, they are very helpful and kind. That have made a lot of tests in order be sure with their diagnose. I am very pleased and I would recommend this clinic in future.
