Needed treatment for severe neck and shoulder pain

I am working in an IT company. I had severe shoulder and neck pain for the last 5 years, tried a lot of medicines and physiotherapy. It gave temporary relief but the pain persisted. In Reliv pain clinic the doctor did a thorough examination and then advised me to go for a steroid injection. On hearing that it is a steroid, I flatly said no. But he told me how it was some depot steroid which remains at the injection site only, it does not spread to the rest of the body so there are no side effects. I took the injection and I have got around 90% relief. It's been 5 months. I did not notice any side effect.
