Dr. Stam (Stamatis Sapountzis) is Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with special interest in Aesthetic and Reconstructive surgery including complex microsurgical procedures.

After he received his Medical Degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the completion of his basic Surgical Training in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery he moved to Seoul and continued his training in Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. During his annual training he focused in Breast Surgery including microsurgical procedures for breast reconstruction after mastectomy, as well as in FacialAesthetic Surgery.

In 2011 he moved to Taiwan, to enhance his experience in advanced reconstructive microsurgery working for 2 years next to Prof. Hung Chi Chen, in China Medical University Hospital in Taiwan. During that period he performed more than 100 free flaps for head and neck reconstruction, breast, trunk and lower limb reconstruction. He showed special interest in Lymphedema Surgery using microsurgical techniques and he is one of the few surgeons in the world who perform Vascularized Lymph Node Transfer.

After 3 years in Asia, he continued as Microsurgical - Breast Fellow in Queen Victoria Hospital in UK, where he specialized in Breast Surgery and Breast reconstruction using autologous tissue from the abdomen or thighs.

From 2013 he is International Board of Director of NPO "Givemefine" with head quarter in Aurangabad (India), providing surgical assistance in economically underprivileged tribal population in Asia

Dr. Stam has published more than 40 Papers in international journals about reconstructive and aesthetic surgery in cooperation with Universities in Brazil and USA ,and attended several meetings in USA, UK, Taiwan, Korea and other places in the world.

He is Member of the Editorial Board after invitation in the following journals:

Gynecomastia

Being a person that is afraid of surgery and have experience before one bad surgery (in my opinion) I was very afraid to contact the doctor at the beginning! But after I contact him and go for a visit to his office I change my mind! For me, a doctor that can calm you is very important and Willing to listen to you to every problem that you think you have!The problem that I experienced is gynecomastia a common problem with men’s but a taboo one. After my surgery, I’m in a position to tell you that 100% of this problem is no more. Perfect results, no pain at all after the surgery. A very clean clinic with a nice environment and good vibes. The most important Dr Stam will be here for you before and after the surgery to be sure that you are 100% good and healthy!It was an amazing experience with a perfect doctor and I strongly suggest everyone that having second thoughts to just go for a visit to the doctor and see for himself if I telling the truth!If you feel that you don’t like something when you go visit the doctor for an amazing experience and perfect results so you can feel and do everything to the max!

Tummy Tuck, Facelift

From my first email inquiry, I received a personal and informative response from Dr Stam himself. As our communication progressed, and I compared his offer, procedures, costs with other doctors, I felt that Dr Stam and his staff and the hospital that he uses (St. Luke's) were superior to other options I considered. From photos of my areas of concern, Dr Stam sent an all-inclusive price for the facelift and tummy tuck, which included hospital fees and necessary garments to wear afterwards. The only other cost was for medications, which for me was 15 euros. I was not required to send money as a deposit, which was a bonus because I was very uncomfortable sending money to a doctor in a foreign country whom I had not met. At our initial meeting in his comfortable office, I felt completely at ease. His English is flawless so I knew we understood each other. He thoroughly went over the procedures, showed me how my appearance would change and we talked about what to expect the day of surgery and the days following. Dr Stam performed surgery the next morning. I was immensely pleased with the hospital and responsive staff, most of whom speak English. Dr Stam did a remarkable job of my surgery and was very present before and afterwards for reassurance. He "held my hand" the entire way, which made a potentially scary procedure far more comfortable for me. Because it is easier for me to get to the hospital rather than to his office, he agreed to followup appointments at the hospital where he changes the dressing and checks the progress of my recovery. Even though I am still very swollen, I can already tell how much better my face and neck look and my tummy is firmer than it has been since before the birth of my first child. I couldn't be more pleased and I highly recommend Dr Stam to anyone considering cosmetic surgery. I believe he and the hospital offered better service than if I had had this done in the US, and the cost was about 1/3 what it would have been there. Dr Stam has a great "bedside manner," and it is clear that he truly cares about the experience and outcome for his patients. I would certainly come back to him, were I to consider other cosmetic surgery in the future.

Breast Reduction

Excellent service from start to finish from Dr Stam, he answered all queries promptly. He is a kind and reassuring doctor. My breast reduction procedure was carried out in a very professional manner, and despite my worries, it was not a very painful experience. I would recommend Dr Stam to a friend and compared to other places in Europe. I thought it was very good value for money. I chose this clinic after reading reviews. Dr Stam has an office in central Thessaloniki which was easy to find. He spent a lot of time reassuring me that the surgery was a simple procedure, without putting any pressure on me to go ahead with it.

Fat Transfer

I had fat transfered from the thighs to face and lips. My goal was to obtain a more youthful look. As well as to have my face sculptured to a shape as attractive as possible. I received the result I was hoping for and more, as it looks even more natural than I had imagined it to. Doctor Sapountzis clearly has an eye for what suits your face and how to provide the best result for the individual. Breast Implants

I had breast augmentation 4 weeks ago by Dr.Stam and I am very pleased with the result. The treatment in Greece was excellent and Dr Stam is really professional and nice doctor and person. Otoplasty

I came from France to have an Otoplasty with Dr. Stam. 2 weeks after the surgery, I almost have no visible trace of it and I am very happy with the result, having already the ears I always wanted to have. The first contact made by mail before I arrived were reassuring. Dr. Stam responded quite fast to all of my questions. During the surgery, Dr. Stam was calm, pleasant, attentive and very precise. He worked cautiously for the patient to feel comfort, without any pain, even during the anesthetic that was largely bearable. The post operative follow-up was better than I expect, contrary to my fears. I had 3 appointments in his office and will have the last one before I leave. Actually, my only regret is that I didn't have the courage to do this surgery before. Thank you, Dr. Stam.

Liposuction, Tummy Tuck

Going for surgery abroad is risky but after reading all the reviews from whatclinic.com I decided to contact Dr. Stamatis. At first, I was so skeptical but when I contacted him he gave me all the information I need to know about the procedures and put to ease all my fears and expectations.I arrived in Thessaloniki 2 days to my lipo and tummy tuck surgery. I had a consultation and the for the surgery. I did all the test required in the clinic which I found very impressive. Dr. Stam and his team are the best, organised, attentive and caring. He listens to all your demands and to tell you are very pleased with my result, just a week after.I will not hesitate to recommend anyone because he is the best. I will surely come back. Liposuction

I chose to go for liposuction as I found it difficult to shift weight from stubborn areas like my hips and abdomen despite following healthy diet and having regular intensive exercise. Now having gone ahead with the procedure I feel so much more confident in myself and a lot of my family, friends and work colleagues have seen a massive change in me! I'm only a month post-op but I already see the changes. I'm already back to my regular exercise and haven't experienced any soreness after the first few days. Looking back, I wish I had done it sooner.I have been considering that for many years but was indecisive, worrying about the procedure. I met with Dr Stam for initial consultation following recommendation by a friend of mine. He was very reassuring, he answered all my questions and explained thoroughly the procedure. He also explained the results I could expect and potential risks. It has been a month since Dr Stam performed the procedure and I am delighted with the results. I am so glad I did this and feel so lucky that I chose Dr. Stam!

I had experienced after my last caesarean section a severe infection and had to have twice surgery. The scar became very ugly and although I am quite skinny, a fat gut was the result of all this. I was very unhappy with my tummy and wanted to have it fixed, so I decided to have a tummy tuck. I found Dr. Stam over the net and contacted him. His prompt responses, always very precise and helpful, have been very helpful. I sent him pictures of the problem area, he made the first evaluation and told me what I could expect. The entire procedure was easy, the hospital where I had surgery was clean and everyone was very kind and helpful (they all spoke English). Three months after surgery, I am back to my old shape. I am so glad I did this and feel so lucky that I chose Dr. Stam! He is so talented and a wonderful person. I wish more doctors would be like him. Thank you, Dr. Stam. The result is so beautiful - I actually now love this scar!
