Breast reduction. I couldn’t be happier with my choice of Surgeon. From the initial consultation, where Mr Barabas managed to put me at ease, to the day of surgery which, was trouble-free, to the final appointment. The wounds healed with no issues, the sutures were dissolvable and cleverly done. The brilliant Anaesthetist prevented any sickness post op which, I was relieved about. I’m delighted with the results, I look more in proportion, have no more shoulder pain and generally feel much better in many ways. Would I choose the same Surgeon again? 100% yes I would, he’s absolutely lovely and is brilliant at what he does. Also, the Anaesthetist and the Fitzwilliam Hospital were fabulous. Thank you
Thanks for the kind review. I hope the results keep you happy for years to come. Anthony
Was admitted and treated with the utmost kindness and patience. All my experience has been so well delivered I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful clinic. Mr Barabas was so gentle and explained everything clearly. With fantastic results. My Anaesthetist Dr Radcliffe too was so kind and with a quiet manner soon put me at my ease. The nursing staff were all so nice too. I had a bilateral breast reduction on 19th and came home last evening. Thank you seems such a poor thing to say But sent with my huge gratitude.
Really quick and easy process to book. A brilliant service, Dr. Barabas was professional and lovely. Very happy with the result!
After getting married and having three children I became "content" and gained five stone, going from 10.5 stone to 15.5 stone and being 5ft 2 this was not a pretty sight. If you are reading this you may know what I'm talking about. So my children became teenagers and I wasn't needed as much by them, this now became time for me. I had a friend who is a personal trainer and this is the beginning of my "new me". The pounds started to fall off and going from a size 18-20 at my biggest to a comfy 14 tight 12. But I still felt fat when I looked down or in the mirror at my stomach. I had this flap of skin and fat that just hung, you know what I'm talking about if you are still reading this. This is when I inquired by email to the Fitzwilliam hospital about abdominoplasty, I got all the information that I needed but just sat on it for a while saying to myself, should I or shouldn't I ? After a couple of months the Fitzwilliam hospital emailed me telling me about an open evening all about the different plastic surgeries they offer. Of course I was going. This is when my next journey began. This was the night I met Anthony Barabas . The evening was very informative and I booked my first consultation which was set for a couple of weeks time. I was so exited that I had made that first step to the "new me". Consultation day came and I new that there was no going back, Anthony Barabas listened to my story of why I wanted the abdominoplasty and looked at the offending area (stomach) he said he could do the procedure and I would notice a massive difference. He put my mind at rest and answered all questions honestly which was what I wanted to hear, no frills. I also felt comfortable with him, you just know when you know. Surgery day came and 3pm was the time. Before the surgery Anthony Barabas came to see me for any last questions and to draw over my stomach, so off to surgery I went. I didn't feel nervous at all, just felt safe and it was going to be ok. 6 hours later, all done. When I came too I had no pain and just wanted to sleep, the nurses did a good job in keeping an eye on me every couple of hours and Anthony Barabas checked on me before he left. The next day my first visitor at 7.30-8.00am was Anthony Barabas checking that I was ok and checking my stomach, all was good and still not in any pain. Later on in the day two nurses helped me out of bed to go to the toilet, this was slow going but made it. I had no appetite at all and was getting told off for not eating but I just couldn't eat, my appetite didn't come back for a couple of weeks. The next day I was leaving hospital Anthony Barabas came to see me again before I left to help take the drains out, I had one each side. This wasn't so bad so don't worry yourselves about it. Had the all clear and off I went home. The first week was just rest and more rest but still not much pain just discomfort, sleeping upright is trial and error, what pillows to have and do you have enough?? The next three weeks was more of the same but what I will say is I felt very down at about 10-14 days, saying why did I do this? I don't feel any slimmer, I've waisted my money!! Be strong and talk to friends family, it will pass and yes it will be worth it.I had regular check ups with Anthony Barabas and also had his email and mobile number on hand if needed, he said to get in touch if I had any worries. This was very reassuring. So I left the house for the first time in four weeks (apart from checkups) couldn't walk far but things got easier as the days went on.In this time I didn't weigh myself or try to get in my jeans because I was still swollen and no point in making yourself feel even more miserable if they didn't fit, so just wait.Back at work at week six (OMG) this was a shock but is do-able just take it easy. Week seven I had a red mark appear just above my pubic line and it became vey sore. I emailed a picture of it to Anthony Barabas and within a couple of hours I was seeing him in the hospital. It turned out to be an ingrown hair which was promptly taken out and I was given antibiotics and it soon cleared up.I'm now eleven weeks post op, back to exercising and on my treadmill (I missed so much) and I feel fantastic. Size 10 and 10 stone 2. I love looking in the mirror now and things can only get better. So if you are thinking about having an abdominoplasty I hope I've helped in a small way in writing this, it's a long road but very well worth it. The Fitzwilliam hospital is the perfect place and Anthony Barabas is most certainly the surgeon to do it for you. I can't fault him in any way, very professional but not in a patronising way, above and beyond the call of duty. The "new me" has arrived. Very officiant the staff and nurses (Shirley) are lovely and its vey clean, the food looked lovely but didn't have any appetite. Will be back.
Thank you for the kind review Kerrie. I has been a pleasure getting to know you, and sharing your experience with you. Best wishes, Anthony
Mr. Barabas is an absolute credit to his profession. Not only did he make me feel extremely comfortable (my embarrassment was sky high). He puts you at ease, explains everything and never complained about my constant conversations of Youtube where I did some research about the procedures I wanted and just to see how other women coped. That said it really didn't help me because of the following: - The pain after all my procedures, out of 10, was mostly a 1 or 2. He takes the utmost care in making sure that your recovery will be as painless and comfortable as possible. - His stitchwork is superb! He could give the tailors of Saville Row a run for their money!!! - All 5 procedures I had with him have been great and absolutely nothing like I have read or seen on the internet! I am beyond cock-a-hoop at how I look now and the only problem I found is that instead of the mirror being my enemy it is now my best friend! Everything that was drooping or hiding in the shade now sees the light! I can't recommend him enough and would advise anyone looking to have work done to also get a consultation with Mr. Barabas. I am a very happy patient! The Fitzwilliam is ok. I emigrated from Essex to Lincolnshire 18 months ago so have been to private hospitals in Essex and London so can compare on this basis. The hospital and waiting rooms are ok but the actual ward room was my biggest bug to bear - if you are stuck in bed for 24 hours or more the choice of tv is dreadful! it only has freeview with shows from the 1970's so i was very bored! i had my ipod but it still didn't help. The other hospitals i have been to had sky tv and even though they only showed the free channels there is far more to choose from and watch than freeview. not a problem if you only have a 1 day stay but 2 nights or more it did get tedious. The toilet paper was another problem! the roughest paper i've used since being back in infant school in the late 1960's where they used a waxy tracing parchment! not very impressed! also for 2 days running the catering staff did not bring me tea with my breakfast and the 1st day i was not offered a paper so when i did ask for one was told i was too late. Because of my fantastic surgeon Mr. Barabas I would recommend this hospital (i know he works at other hospitals) but for a private patient the room and catering staff wasn't very 5* The nursing staff, on the other hand, were so fantastic. I can't praise them highly enough. The nurses Julie, Shirley, the ward Sister Becka and the very lovely Jenny who helped me get out of bed and redressed my compression bandages, for this reason, I would rate them 10*. I have left a SUPERB 5 STAR review because of Mr. Barabas and the nursing staff but realistically I think the hospital deserves a 4 star.
Mr Anthony Barabas, what can I say, best surgeon around, nice, personable, knowledgable, brilliant surgeon. I've had many past surgeries over the years, Harley street, and Hollywood, with some quite famous surgeons, but never again, I've just had two separate surgeries with him, a breast lift, thigh lift and then a buttock lift with liposuction, the scars are amazing, so neat, tidy, he has rectified some past scars, Hollywood ones, I will never go to anyone else now, I recomend this man to everybody wanting something done, he is so easy to talk too, and makes the whole experience amazing.
Thanks for the kind review.
My experience has been fantastic. From the very first time I got in contact with Mr Barabas I knew it had to be him. He gave me so much confidence and explained everything about the procedure. My recovery went well, also we maintained a very good communication when I had any questions. My results are awesome, I feel and look better than ever. I would go to him again if I needed any other procedure. I only regret not doing it earlier. Many many thanks.
Thanks for the kind review Meri. bw Anthony
