Dr. Fischer comes from a family of artistic individuals and was sketching and making clay figures from a very early age. With an architect father he quickly developed an eye for beauty and detail, and won awards for his posters and sculptures in school. He has taken medals from the American Physicians Art Association and has had several one-man shows at local art galleries and the YMHA's in Wayne and Englewood, NJ. When one enters his office in the Radburn section of Fair Lawn, they quickly see that art and beauty are essential elements in his life.
Dr. Fischer is particularly interested in Body Contour Surgery and Liposculpture and was the first plastic surgeon in NJ to offer these procedures, after going abroad to study with the French plastic surgeons who invented them. Another area of expertise is Breast Reduction and Mastopexy where the breasts are resuspended on the chest wall in a more youthful location and with a "perkier" shape and projection. Peri-orbital aesthetics is also a favorite subject for him since mentoring with Dr. Robert S. Flowers in Honolulu, in the early 1990's. Frequently patients will think that they need an eyelid-plasty when they actually need to have their brows elevated, and little if anything done to their lids.
Forty years ago I was in an automobile accident. My head broke the windshield and I received several lacerations across my face.Dr Fisher Spent seven hours removing glass pieces from my face and suturing the cuts. Over the next three years, he performed three follow-up surgeries to minimize the scarring on my face. He is meticulous. Looking back, I am very thankful for this doctor. He is very dedicated to his work. Thanks, Doc forty years later. JH
