I have just returned from my six monthly appointment with Giles Saxon. I cannot speak highly enough of the professional way that he deals with his patients and the excellent service that he provides. He is well supported by his long standing assistant Angela and as a bonus he has obtained the services of a hygienist who although relatively young provided the best service I have ever experienced by a hygienist at a Dentist's practice. I had trouble with my teeth and also a loose one. He removed the plaque and told me what he was doing and why. Dr. Chohan has been great and very patient and the nurses were really good. All of my visits have been very good. The staff on reception, nurses, and Dr. Chohan have been very patient and friendly and certainly eased my nerves. The great appeal of this clinic is the - near-obsession - with preventative dental treatment. Enormous attention given to promoting oral hygiene and so lessening the danger of problems. It works: I am in my seventies, have been attending the clinic for over 20 years and have very few fillings and have had no extractions. When there is a problem - a tooth needed crowing - it was done quickly with minimum discomfort. (Dr Cowan is a competent, likeable techie who has excellent state-of-the-art kit). Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. My wife was recommended by a friend shortly after Dr. Cowan opened up in Buxton. She was nervous but found him friendly with an excellent "bedside manner." Above all she described him as someone who would look totally at home, "using a Black & Decker" - This isn't an insult! - Dentistry requires manipulative, dexterity skills and he has this in full measure. read more
