Some time ago, I found myself in the heartbreaking situation of being unmarried, and desperately wanting a family, yet finding out that it may be already too late because at my age the chances of having my own biological child was less than 3%. Even so and with much hope, I endured 3 IVF attempts using my own eggs. They did not work - it was a devastating experience.I did some simple research and found Athens IVF Center. Their website was professional and informative. I then arranged a 15-minute skype appointment and spoke directly to Dr Vasileos Athanassiou, their lead doctor. I immediately recognised him as kind, caring and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions. I felt comfortable and decided to go ahead with a donor IVF treatment at this clinic. Well, I must say what an easy and reassuring experience it was! Once you sign up, they immediately assign you with a ‘Chief Listening Officer’, a kind lady by the name of Konstantina. She stayed in contact with me by email throughout my whole preparation phase in Australia; she was clear on what steps to take and medications required, and she was reassuring when I was stressed, worried and had doubts. She was also served as the liaison point between myself and Dr Athanassiou.The time finally came for the final part of IVF cycle – the transfer, which was done in Greece by Dr Athanassiou. I was absolutely amazed at the professionalism of his whole team of nurses, administrative staff and embryologist. The transfer itself was a reassuring experience and I felt well-cared for throughout, and I even have a photo of the embryos before and after transfer!That first IVF cycle at IVF Athens Clinic was successful and I now have a beautiful child. I have never been happier.Thank you again to Dr Athanassiou, Konstantina, Maria the embryologist and the nurses and admin staff at Athens IVF Center.I have since learned that Dr Athanassiou is a world-class IVF specialist and I feel so very lucky to have him as my IVF doctor. I definitely recommend this clinic and Dr Athanassiou.

FET - Frozen Embryo Transfer

I and my husband had been trying to conceive for 1 ½ year. We had gone through 2 IUIs at a certain IVF clinic in Athens before but we decided to take one last shot at IVF Athens Center. I had a 5-day transfer twice. The second attempt resulted in a BFP. To be honest I was ready to quit right after the 1st cycle failure. Thanks to my husband, who is that really persistent type of person. I came back 2 years later to have a FET, which ended in a successful pregnancy. The good thing about the clinic and Dr Athanassiou was; that they spent enough time to see if there was a problem and what the problem was. They never pushed a situation unless they were certain about what exactly to do, how and when. They treated us with a proper blend of human touch and professionalism. I also valued that we were being kept up to date with every single step of the process by the doctor and the patient coordinator. Certainly, it is not the cheapest choice in Greece but what matters to me is that I got what I paid for. It is definitely worth considering them!

After a long struggle, my husband and I tried to find the right doctor to understand us and help us on this difficult journey to become parents we found Dr. Athanassiou. Dr. Athanassiou was that person and we could not ask for more, as he was the perfect choice! He and his whole team guided and supported us through each step of our IVF treatment. This made us feel like they were our family! Thank you all for giving us our little girl.

I have a rare translocation of chromosomes that drastically reduce the chances of producing good quality eggs at my age (over 40). I had already tried and failed 7 times using donor eggs but was pleasantly surprised to get pregnant after the first attempt at IVF Athens Center. I found Dr Athanassiou very methodic, honest and effective. I felt that my treatment was of very good value as it was the only successful one and I am currently 6 months pregnant. I had an excellent experience and would highly recommend. Both my husband and I are medical doctors, we were introduced to Dr Athanassiou by a gynaecologist friend to whom were are so grateful.Our global experience with Dr Athanassiou and his team is excellent. He has a very human touch, professionalism, perfect organisation and step by step help all the way that led to success!

I have stage 4 endometriosis, which was removed by laparoscopy when I was 28-29. I was trying to conceive for 2 years and before having IVF I tried medication and injections. My first IVF cycle, with egg collections/transfers, was at the age of 33 and led to the birth of my first child, my son! I regret I hadn’t tried IVF earlier. I would have saved much of the physical and emotional pain endured. I was lucky to find this wonderful person, Dr Vassilis Athanassiou. Who treated me as a human being and not as just another “sell”, showing respect, understanding and professional wisdom. This is also the case for every member of the staff that I met. Special tip: the consulting psychologist, who helped me to stay positive all the way. Good luck and my best wishes to all hope-to-be-moms out there!

After many years of failed IVF treatments at other clinics, Dr. Athanasiou made this terrifying and difficult process so wonderful for us. From the first moment, we felt that we were dealing with real professionals. Dr. Vasilios Athanasiou made it clear from the beginning that he wants us to have a child from the first attempt.Our level of confidence was extremely low and it was difficult to believe that we could reach pregnancy from the 1st attempt. Dr. Athanasiou from the very first meeting told us that he could not do magic, but he can do science. We followed his instructions to the fullest, and he gave us confidence that we will soon have a child. The miracle happened... I got pregnant on the 1st attempt. Today our son is three months old, healthy and happy. We want to thank the entire staff of the IVF Athens Center. They are all extremely skilled, friendly, supportive, and professional.

Thankful. The words 'thank you' are not enough to express my gratitude to you and your team! We welcomed our first baby in the world 5 weeks ago, after 8 years of trying to get naturally pregnant with my husband thanks to IVF Athens Center, Dr Athanasiou and his amazing team! Before going on our first visit to the clinic for our first IVF cycle, I felt quite apprehensive (but encouraged by my husband) and thought it was going to be a frustrating and stressful experience. It turned out to be one of the most memorable periods of my life from the first to the last moment. Thanks to the warmth, the responsiveness and the professionalism of the whole team. It really felt like home! I am now looking at my little angel sleeping in her rocking chair and feel like the luckiest person in this world.
