Gastric Band

I had a gastric band fited on 22/8/2015 at the Leicester Hospital. From the first consultation I knew I was in safe hands. I have lost 3 stone in 12 weeks and it still coming off. The band however is only part of the weight loss programme, a sensible diet of small frequent meals properly chewed and enjoyed cannot be empasised enough. I spent one night in hospital and my partner stayed with me and was treated with courtesy. I have only needed one fill since the band was fitted and possibly may not need any more. The need for a fill is assessed on arrival, is quick and pain free. The bonus is the London clinic is at the back of the John Lewis store on Oxford street! The hospital is spotlessly clean. The staff are efficient and friendly and respond to need in a timely manner. Frequent telephone calls post surgery are maintained as needed and were reassuring. The calls reduced my stress levels and enhanced the recovery period. I was back to work after 2 weeks on light duties for a week. This hospital was recommended to me by a friend`s friend and I would not hesitate to recommend Chris Sutton and his team.

Gastric Sleeve

After a very informative and friendly consultation with Chris Sutton and Kay Franklin, I opted to have a Sleeve Gastrectomy done with Tonic to tackle my weight. From booking the op, the team were in touch within the first few days to introduce themselves and offer their support, this was reassuring as being so young I was worried about all the change I would be faced with. Once I was admitted to Nuffield I met with my bariatric nurse who was absolutely brilliant, not only during my time in the hospital but to this day. Recovering from the op was fairly quick and I was in regular contact with the team at Tonic, it was good to have so much support behind me at what was a difficult time in terms of re learning new eating and drinking habits. 6 months on from this operation, I have dropped from 18.5 stone to just over 11 stone, 7 stone in 6 months!! This is clearly a result of an expert team of specialists. From my surgeon, Chris Sutton, to every other member of the team at tonic I couldn't have ever reached such an amazing goal without their help and support every step of the way. I would recommend Tonic to anybody who needs a team who go that extra mile and take a personal approach to helping each client. Also, I would strongly recommend this procedure to anyone who comes across it, book a consultation and I'm certain you'll see the points I have highlighted in my review. This procedure isn't a fix or the easy option, this procedure is there as a tool for determined people to use in their life to lose weight and learn how to eat properly. Don't be attracted to a lower price another clinic may offer, this is likely because after your operation you are faced with recovering and learning everything on your own with little or no support, pay the extra to have the most amazing team behind you and the leading weight loss surgeon. From meeting at consultation, to right now 7 months on, the team have been absolutely brilliant and couldn't have done any more for me. Tonic are undoubtedly leaders in the market of work which they offer. If I could rate past 5 stars to define them further than others, I would.

Gastric Bypass

After a failed gastric band surgery at another clinic I spoke to the team at Tonic for some guidance following recommendations from friends and family. I had a consultation with the surgeon who explained what could be carried out to support me, how much it would cost and what the price included. Having battled with my weight most of my adult life I decided to opt for a gastric bypass. An appointment was made for me within weeks. Tonic arranged for my transport too and from the hospital. shortly after arriving at the hospital I had my surgery. The doctor and staff were amazing ensuring my recovery went as smoothly as possible. On arriving home Tonic contacted me everyday to monitor my wellbeing and have continued to maintain regular contact with me to support me. I had my bypass in January and have lost six and a half stone. I have been supported by surgeons, dieticians and several other members of the team and their support during this time has been exceptional. I would and have recommended Tonic as they have literally helped me change my life for the better. I am a happier more confident person and couldn't have accomplished it without the help of Tonic. My experience with Tonic has been amazing. The help and support I have had during my journey has been exceptional. I don't feel like a patient when I go to the clinic but more like someone visiting friends.

Gastric Bypass, Gastric Band

I had a revision from a band to a bypass. Everyone I met and spoke with at Tonic was exceptional. In the end, I chose them because they took the time to take all my calls, answer all my questions and give me the best aftercare service I could wish for. I have even got a money back promise if anything goes wrong - it's totally fabulous. If you are thinking of anyone then give Tonic the time to show you what good looks like Amazing can't fault the team they really do go above and beyond.

Gastric Band

I had a gastric band and it's the best money I've ever spent on weight loss, and I've spent a lot. No more self sabotaging weekends. There's still a bit of work you need to put in but it's much more difficult to over indulge on calories with a band. Tonic have been brilliant. There's no hidden costs, a team of specialist to help and a responsible doctor. I'd recommend them to anyone. I actually enjoyed having the operation, I loved being in hospital and being cared for, so much so that I'm going back for a thigh lift lol :) I'm really looking forward to having legs I can show off.

Gastric Sleeve

I went for my initial appointment with a gastric band in mind. Basically because this is what I had heard the most about. When I sat down with the consultant he discussed my current lifestyle with kids, work etc and recommended the Gastric Sleeve. This wasn't something I had heard of before but when he explained that unlike the band the procedure was permanent and would not require so many out patient appointments i felt it was the right choice for me to fit around a full time job and two children.My main reason for the surgery was cosmetic, although i have no doubt that had i not done what i did when i did, then within a few years it would be for medical reasons. To say i am delighted is an understatement. I have spent my entire life just being, 'a little bit fat'. Always the bigger one within my group of friends and turning down weekend trips etc as a result of my weight. At the time of my initial consultation i weighed in at 16stone 5 lbs. I had the surgery in April and am now 10st 2lbs. Ive dropped from a size 18 to a size 8. for the first time in my life i am happy with what looks back at me in the mirror. It was strange at first not being able to consume the volume of food i used too but now myself, my stomach and my appetite completely understand each other. I love the fact that i can still enjoy food but just in smaller portions which is just as satisfying but more so as i no longer hate the reflection as a pure result of overeating.Over the years i have spent a fortune on personal trainers, gym subscriptions, silly milkshake diets and although this was a large investment for me personally it is one i wish i had done ten years ago! The surgeon was amazing. he remained in direct contact with me before and after the surgery and was really supportive. The hospital itself was better than most hotels ive stayed at. The staff were attentive and did everything possible to make my two night stay as comfortable as possible. Ive been in since the surgery for follow up appointments and what was great was that the staff all remembered me and made it very clear you are important and more than just a name on a patient sheet.The staff at tonic have been great and i will stay in touch with them for two years to make sure i get the most out of my surgery. With something so very personal its important to have the right team perform the right surgery and I know i made the right choice. I would have zero hesitation recommending the team at Tonic to anyone who is unhappy with their weight.
