Accessibility Statement

WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, ADA-informed design, and accessibility support

Last Modified on February 19, 2020
1

Our Commitment & Standards

ClinicBooking is committed to providing a website and services that are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and to apply relevant guidance from Section 508 (for comparable practices) and ADA Title III requirements as they relate to places of public accommodation online.

Statement of intent: We aim to design, build, test, and maintain features to support equitable access, and to promptly address reasonable accommodation requests.

2

Scope

This statement applies to ClinicBooking.com, our public web pages, logged-in areas for patients and professionals, and official widgets we publish for clinic websites. It does not control third-party websites we link to, user-generated content we do not control, or embedded third-party services, though we strive to select accessible partners.

3

Measures to Support Accessibility

  • Adopt WCAG 2.2 AA as the design and QA baseline (including color contrast, focus visibility, semantics, and error prevention).
  • Provide text alternatives for non-text content (alt text, captions, transcripts where applicable).
  • Ensure keyboard operability and visible focus across interactive controls.
  • Use semantic HTML and ARIA only as needed; avoid role conflicts.
  • Test with assistive technologies (screen readers and magnifiers) and on major browsers.
  • Train engineers, designers, and authors on accessibility requirements.
  • Maintain an internal backlog for accessibility fixes with prioritization rules.
  • Offer channels to request accommodations and report barriers.
4

Conformance Status

Target standard: WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Based on ongoing self-assessment and periodic third-party reviews, most pages and core user flows are designed for conformance; some legacy or user-generated components may present issues being tracked for remediation.

Technical Specifications

Accessibility of ClinicBooking relies on the following technologies to function with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML5, WAI-ARIA (when appropriate), CSS, JavaScript
  • HTTPS, semantic markup, responsive layout, accessible name/role/value patterns
  • Server-side rendering with progressive enhancement where applicable
7

Known Limitations & Alternatives

User-uploaded images
Limitation: Alt text may be missing or insufficient.
Request description via contact form; we're adding uploader prompts and checks.
Third-party maps
Limitation: Some embedded map controls lack full keyboard support.
Use address text links; request directions by email; consider static map images with text addresses.
Historic articles
Limitation: Legacy pages may have suboptimal heading or landmark structure.
Remediation in progress; use page outline navigation via screen reader.

Feedback, Formal Complaints & Response Time

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know. We typically respond within 5 business days with either a fix or a timeline.

If you believe your concern has not been adequately addressed, you may consider filing a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice ADA Information Line at ada.gov or your state/local civil rights agency. (We are not providing legal advice.)

9

Requesting Accommodations & Alternate Formats

We can provide information in alternate formats (for example, large print or a tagged PDF) upon request. When you contact us, please include:

  • Page URL(s) and a brief description of the issue
  • Your preferred format and assistive technology (if any)
  • Your contact information for follow-up
10

Keyboard Access & Skip Links

Key shortcuts supported across the site include:

  • Tab / Shift + Tab — move focus forward/back
  • Enter or Space — activate focused control
  • Esc — close modals/menus

A "Skip to main content" link is available at the top of each page when using the keyboard.

11

Third-Party Content & Integrations

Our platform may include user-generated content and third-party embeds (e.g., maps or video players). While we encourage accessible implementations, their conformance is not fully within our control. We provide titles, labels, and text alternatives when feasible and offer alternatives upon request.

12

Continuous Improvement & Roadmap

  • Quarterly audits for critical flows (search, booking, account).
  • Expand automated checks in CI for common issues (color contrast, focus order, ARIA misuse).
  • Improve content authoring guidance for alt text, captions, and headings.
  • Broaden compatibility testing matrix as new browser/AT versions release.
