1

Mission & Scope

ClinicBooking publishes health education and marketplace information to help people make informed decisions about elective and medically necessary care, and to help licensed health professionals present factual information about their services. We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment; we host and label content to enable safer, more transparent decisions.

2

Editorial Independence & Firewalls

  • Editorial control: Editorial staff and medical reviewers have final say over educational content. Commercial teams cannot overrule clinical accuracy or safety warnings.
  • Separation from ads: Advertising, sponsored posts, and promotions are clearly labeled and kept separate in layout, styling, and decision-making. See our Advertising & Sponsorship Policy.
  • No pay-to-play: Providers cannot purchase improved editorial coverage, evidence grades, or outcomes claims.
3

Creation, Review & Update Process

  • Authors: Health writers, editors, and subject-matter experts produce drafts with cited sources.
  • Medical review: Licensed HCPs (in relevant specialty) review for accuracy, balance, contraindications, and plain-language clarity.
  • Fact-check: Separate fact-checking confirms claims, statistics, dosing language, and device/drug status (e.g., FDA cleared/approved, CE mark).
  • Update cadence: Core reference pages are reviewed at least annually; sooner upon major guideline, regulatory, or safety changes.
  • Versioning: Pages display "Last Modified" and reviewer info; material changes are logged internally.
5

Sources, Evidence & Grading

We prefer primary sources: peer-reviewed journals, systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, government and professional society publications. Marketing materials or single-center data without peer review are considered lower-quality support.

A
High-quality, consistent evidence
Systematic reviews/meta-analyses, multiple RCTs, national guidelines
B
Moderate evidence
Single RCTs, well-designed cohort/case-control studies
C
Limited/low evidence
Observational studies, small series, mechanism data
D
Expert consensus/opinion
Panels, specialty statements without strong data

Device and drug claims must match current regulatory status (e.g., U.S. FDA, EU MDR). We do not publish unsubstantiated efficacy claims.

6

Conflicts, Funding & Affiliates

  • Disclosures: Editors, reviewers, and writers disclose financial ties (consulting, speaking, equity, research grants). Material conflicts are disclosed on page or reviewer roster.
  • Affiliate links: If used, they are labeled and never change editorial ratings or conclusions. See Advertising & Sponsorship Policy.
  • Anti-kickback/fee-splitting: Content must not induce referrals or remuneration prohibited by law or professional rules.
7

AI-Assist & Automation

  • We may use AI tools for drafting, summarization, or formatting. All editorial content is human-edited and medically reviewed before publication.
  • AI outputs are verified against primary sources; we do not allow AI to generate clinical recommendations without human oversight.
  • We do not permit AI-generated before/after images or synthetic patient photos in editorial content.
8

Images, Video & Before/After

  • Consent: Patient media requires proper consent consistent with our Photo & Video Policy.
  • Editing limits: Technical edits (crop, exposure) allowed; no body-shape alteration or misleading filters.
  • Labeling: Before/after sequences are labeled with timing, procedure, and any adjunct treatments.
  • Sensitive content: Intimate or graphic images are flagged and minimized where possible.
9

User-Generated Content (UGC)

Reviews, Q&A, and forums reflect individual experiences and opinions, not editorial consensus. UGC must follow our Code of Conduct and Review/Moderation Policy. UGC may be moderated, edited (for policy compliance), or removed.

10

Regulatory & Compliance Notes

  • Medical neutrality: We do not set standards of care. Regional guidelines vary; consult licensed HCPs.
  • Device/drug status: We identify regulatory status where material (e.g., "FDA-cleared," "not FDA-approved for this indication").
  • FTC/ASA advertising rules: Claims must be truthful, not misleading, and substantiated.
  • HIPAA/PHI boundary: Editorial pages are not patient records. PHI handling is governed by our HIPAA BAA when applicable, and Privacy Policy.
  • Translations: English version controls; translations are for convenience and may differ.
  • Accessibility: We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA. See our Accessibility Statement.
12

Medical Advice Disclaimer & Emergencies

No medical advice. Editorial content is informational and not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (U.S.) or your local emergency number immediately.
